Following the success of the Classic Dirt Bike Show at Malvern in January this year, the first of a series of spares days for the classic dirt bike, twin-shock and off-road market will open for business at 10am on Sunday November 29th 2009. Say organiser Andrew Greenwood; ‘It was quite clear from the January event that there is a great appetite for such an event at a venue where there is space for plenty of indoor stalls and where enthusiasts can buy complete bikes or elusive parts for that winter rebuild.’

As well as traders, private individuals are welcome to turn up with a boot-load of bits; ‘Enthusiasts can afford to book a stand at £20 to clear their garages. It is just a case of turning up from 7am on the day.’ The Spares Day opens to the public from 10am, all under cover at the Three Counties Showground at Malvern, Worcs. New Enfield At NEC

If you’re going to the NEC bike show (November 27th 2009 to December 6th) then keep your eyes peeled for the latest version of Royal Enfield’s fuel-injected unit-construction 500cc single. The UK’s Woodsman model which is being launched at the Show forms part of the Indian company’s export drive following an announcement that it plans to invest $13.8 million in order to double its motorcycle manufacturing capacity. The company, which currently sells between 4500 and 5000 motorcycles a month, expects to sales figures for 2009 to hit the sell 50,000 mark. While domestic demand will swallow the majority of new production, export sales are predicted to account for an increased proportion of sales, growing to 15% in the next five years.

The UK is currently Royal Enfield’s biggest export market (out-selling many of the popular Italian marques, we understand), followed by the USA and Germany. To see the full range of current models visit: www.royal-enfield.com

Not New, But…

This isn’t news in any sense of the word: it’s not new and it isn’t even updated information. But we figured that it’s the right time of year for a reminder that your bike’s battery will be slowly losing its electrical impetus, and Paul Goff’s neat little charger offers a low-cost way to keep it topped up.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Well, if it came in a tin, it would...

This battery charger is specifically designed to suit the smaller batteries fitted to motorcycles — car chargers aren’t suitable for bike batteries because they can cause damage through overcharging. Paul’s chargers are suitable for 6V and 12V and feature a quick release plug and socket connection that can be fitted out of sight to enable easy connection without taking the bike apart.

Crcodoile not included...The charger also comes with a crocodile. Sorry – I’ll read that again – the charger also comes with crocodile clips. Shame. A crocodile would make life so much more interesting.

Available from www.norbsa02.freeuk.com for £14 including UK delivery. You’ll have to shop around to find a crocodile…

Morris Lubricants has recently relaunched its Golden Film product range. The Golden Film Classic Range, produced by the well respected Shrewsbury-based company, has found its way back onto the shelves and back into the hearts of enthusiasts who remember the brand name the first time round. Morris Lubricants have combined traditional oil properties and selected modern additives to produce a range of tailored lubricants for cherished classic, vintage and veteran vehicles and motorcycles.

Don't forget a bottle of sherry for the Sheilas...

‘The Golden Film brand is a part of our Morris heritage and was the natural choice to accompany the new packaging and literature for these specialised products,’ said Adrian Hill, Morris Lubricants’ product and marketing manager. ‘Engines and gearboxes of classic vehicles have very different lubrication requirements compared to their modern counterparts. It is important to provide the correct levels of protection in these applications and we called upon our extensive experience to ensure this happened.

‘These are interesting times for us technically,’ added Adrian. ‘Not only are we catering for the classic, veteran and vintage market, but we are also developing state of the art lubricant technology for the latest low emission engine designs.’ The full range can be seen and ordered at www.morrislubricantsonline.co.uk
