Merlin launches Waltham Air Jacket and Aero Mesh Riding Shirt for warm weather riding

by

Merlin has announced two new additions to its Spring/Summer 2026 Collection: the Waltham Air Jacket and the Aero Mesh Riding Shirt.

Designed for warm weather riding, both garments use lightweight, highly breathable mesh constructions to keep airflow high when temperatures rise, while retaining rider protection. Both achieve CE EN17092 Level AA certification.

The two new garments are aimed at riders looking for summer riding kit that combines abrasion resistance, impact protection and lightweight comfort, whether for city commutes, warm-weather rides or summer touring.

Waltham Air Jacket

The Waltham Air Jacket combines Merlin’s exclusive 8oz Halley Stevensons® Scottish Cotec waxed cotton with large air-mesh panels, giving it a different character from a traditional mesh jacket while still offering high levels of breathability.

It is available in Black or Olive, in sizes S to 5XL, with an RRP of £279.99.

Despite its lightweight warm-weather design, the Waltham Air Jacket is CE EN17092 Level AA certified. It comes with D3O® LP1 Tri-Vented armour pre-fitted in the shoulders and elbows, plus a D3O® Viper large back protector included.

Key features include Merlin-exclusive 8oz Halley Stevensons® Cotec waxed cotton, large air-mesh panels, a fixed breathable mesh liner, two external zipped lower pockets, a fixed liner sunglasses pouch, fixed liner earplug pouch and fixed liner patch pocket.

Aero Mesh Riding Shirt

The Aero Mesh Riding Shirt offers an alternative to a summer jacket, combining the everyday appeal of a military-inspired overshirt with the airflow expected from dedicated mesh motorcycle kit.

It is available in Black, Dark Grey or Navy, in sizes S to 5XL, with an RRP of £159.99.

The Aero Mesh uses 750D Korean-sourced polyester static panels with highly breathable Korean-sourced laser-cut mesh panels, along with a fixed breathable mesh liner and multiple internal and external pocket options.

It is CE EN17092 Level AA certified and includes D3O® Diablo shoulder and elbow armour. According to Merlin, the Diablo armour has 40% less surface area than LP1 and is half the weight. The shirt also includes a pocket to fit a D3O® back protector.

Both the Waltham Air Jacket and Aero Mesh Riding Shirt are now available from Merlin retailers and form part of the brand’s wider Spring/Summer 2026 range of riding garments, gloves, boots and helmets.
